Role Definition

We are seeking two highly skilled and experienced Resident Engineers to oversee the horizontal development of townhouses and villas in our exciting real estate project. As a Resident Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful execution of the project, adhering to design specifications, quality standards, and timelines.

Core Accountabilities

  • Construction Oversight: Manage and supervise the construction activities of Town Houses / Individual villas in horizontal development, including coordination with other agencies like site grading, utilities, roadways, and infrastructure etc.
  • HSE: Ensure safety goals are achieved on the project and oversee implementation of safety procedures on the project. Act positively and participate in all health and safety issues at site
  • Client Relationship: Establish, maintain, and build healthy client relationships, proactively resolve performance, scope and schedule issues with the Client as they arise, identify, document, communicate and meet the client's requirements
  • Team/Site Management: Listen to the team, discuss the issues, resolve problems, and direct activities to remove roadblocks and achieve objectives, etc.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • To act as and to fulfil the duties of the Engineer/Lead Consultant with regards to assigned duties delegated authority and be directly responsible to the Employer during the construction of the Works.
  • Manage deployment of resources to create a project team capable of effectively completing the project with the best quality standards. Monitor cost aspects of the supervision contract, forecast final costs, identify trends, and take action to avoid cost overruns.
  • Responsible for following up on instructions and commitments associated with the project.
  • Oversee establishment of Project Execution Plan, Health and Safety Plan, Quality Assurance/Quality Control Plan, and other documents as required.
  • Promote technical and commercial excellence on the project through application of Quality Assurance processes.
  • Review all shop/working/as-built drawings, design proposals, method statements, material submissions, and any requests for information relating to the works within the contract. Ensure accuracy, completeness of records and compliance to project KPI for document turnaround.
  • Coordinate with the Client/Project Manager, the Contractor and concerned Authorities. Participate in negotiations with regulatory agencies and in meetings in support of clients.
  • Work with key project individuals to devise and execute action plans to rectify potential cost overruns or delays or to accommodate significant changes to the scope of work. Advise the client and company management of any such changes.
  • Establish the program requirements for all areas of the project and monitors the draft and final deliverables for adherence to these criteria.
  • Ensure that the project meets or exceeds goals established.
  • Ensure prompt response to Contractor and Client correspondence.
  • Monitor the closure of all identified risks and opportunities. Visibly support risk identification and mitigation throughout the project.
  • Generally, supervise, review, monitor and report on the progress of the works. Report to the management on the progress of all project activity within the program, including significant milestones and any conditions which would affect project cost or schedule.
  • Report back as necessary to the Chief Executive Officer/Construction Director.
  • Participate in contract administration, apply value engineering and give final approval to works and arrange for handover.

Qualities and Skills required

  • Should have experience in handling horizontal development and executed any “Emaar project”
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and practices
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools

Qualifications required

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
  • Should have 15 years (overall) and 5 years of experience in residential construction and horizontal development projects as ‘Resident Engineer’
  • Candidates who can join immediately will be prioritized
