Role Definition

We are looking for a highly skilled and creative senior Landscape Architect to work as part of the multidisciplinary studio. The team member will be an integral part of the creative team, take part in planning, scheduling, organizing, coordinating design work for a large range of landscape projects. Successful applicants must demonstrate a passion for landscape architecture, have good graphic and proven illustration skills, as well as excellent technical abilities and proven proficiency in using AutoCAD, SketchUp and Adobe Creative Suite. Revit experience would be an advantage.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop creative design ideas in collaboration with the team.
  • Proactively support business development activities including bidding, preparing fee proposals, as well as networking and client relations.
  • Chair key meetings to review the quality and progress of the project.
  • Create and maintain all project fee resource plants, monitor cost and deliver projects within the set budget.
  • Ensure all projects are adequately resourced and delegate project tasks.
  • Check all documentation in for final sign-off and distribution, ensuring compliance with QA protocols and CAD standards.
  • Management and supervision of all landscape design and construction works on several sites within the UAE, neighbouring Gulf states as well as international projects
  • Design, documentation and coordination of entire landscape projects including internal management of staff resources
  • Client meetings and presentations where you will represent the company
  • Evaluation and recommendations on contractors’ submittals for the various aspects of soft and hard landscaping works.
  • Liaison and coordination with other design consultants and clients
  • Assist with documentation of project submittals
  • Administer overall operations of the organization, including reviewing and evaluating the results of program activities/deliverables, ensuring contractual obligations are fulfilled, and allocating resources for greater program effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Quality and progress control of the said works on site
  • Resolution of all site design issues and specifications.
  • Arranging progress meetings and workshops in co-ordination with other disciplines on site.
  • Preparation of CAD drawings for landscape projects including plans, sections, details, etc for concept work stage, schematic design, design development, detailed design and tender stages
  • Preparation of drawings for landscape projects using Photoshop, Sketch-Up, etc as required
  • Manage strategic planning process to ensure the organization has a long-range strategy that achieves the organizational mission towards which it makes consistent and timely progress
  • Provide business development on behalf of the Company

Qualities and Skills required

  • Ability to liaise with external consultants and client in a proficient and professional manner, nurturing relationships in support of ongoing business development.
  • Have a strong foundation in cross disciplinary coordination.
  • Applicants should be motivated individuals with a positive attitude.
  • Solid documentation skillsets (Revit, AutoCAD) with demonstrated BIM capabilities highly regarded
  • 3D knowledge (Sketch-up, Lumion, Enscape),
  • A general aptitude for design and documentation (InDesign, Photoshop),
  • Good planting/vegetation knowledge, and
  • Sound knowledge of design issues e.g., planning, climate, and benchmark project outcomes.
  • The successful candidates will be collaborative, hard-working, and passionate about innovative landscape solutions.
  • Excellent organisation and presentation skills.
  • Solid construction knowledge and the ability to put together high-quality technical drawing packages.
  • Experience in dealing with client and landscape contractors as well as good tendering and on-site experience, would be desirable.

Qualifications required

  • Must possess a Bachelor’s degree in either Landscape Architecture or Urban Design or Architecture.
  • At least 6 years of professional working experience in the sector.
  • Previous experience in leading and managing multiple from medium to large scale project delivery from concept to completion.
